We use the latest equipment for the professional cleaning of tarmac drives & the removal of moss.
Moss is a common problem on tarmac drives; due to the soft nature of tarmac, it cannot be safely power washed; in our opinion, the only professional solution is a 3-step process of moss killers & motorised brushing.

Three Step Cleaning

Step 1: an application of high-strength moss killer is applied 1 week before cleaning; this kills the moss and weakens its grip on the tarmac.
This alone would solve the moss problem on most drives, but the result would be very slow in showing. The moss would die and slowly, over the coming months rot away but it is a very slow process.

Step 2: We return after a week and use our powered ‘moss scrubber’ this powered brush removes the dead moss and leaves the drive clean and moss free.
Again this brush can be used as a stand-alone system and will effectively remove healthy, growing moss, but it needs to be set to an aggressive cleaning height that is not suitable for tarmac in poor condition (better to kill the moss first)

Step 3: a second application of moss killer to be certain that all the moss spores have been effectively cleaned; this is done after we have cleaned the drive.
This system is the most effective method of cleaning your drive.
BUT!….. the moss killer has an effective life of about 4 months; from 4 months onwards, the moss will very slowly start to return; if you do nothing, your drive in 18 months - 2yrs will be just as bad as it is today.
THE LONG TERM SOLUTION TO MOSS ON YOUR DRIVE.
Your drive needs an application of moss killer every 4 months; even if your drive looks moss free, the moss spores will be slowly taking hold, do nothing and one day, you will look at your drive to discover it's full of moss again.
